Haiti Solar Ovens

The Dakotas Conference is blessed to have missionary Rick Jost and the Solar Oven Partners project as one of our missions projects. In Haiti, rapid deforestation has occured to create the Haitian people's primary cooking fuel source: charcoal. As a result, the land has become susceptible to erosion, and landslides. In an effort to create a more economically and environmentally sustainable practice of cooking for Haitian people, The Solar Ovens Partners have introduced the this new method of preparing food using the most abundant energy source available to the people of Haiti - THE SUN!  Click here for the most recent brochure and to learn how you can be involved in this vital ministry.
